Valentine’s Day Gift Guide
Welcome to the very first Covert Metals Blog and thank you so much for spending time with me. I thought for this inaugural edition I’d share some of my favorite things with you.
If you follow me on social media you know how much I care about small businesses and support them as often as possible. I have curated a special group of creative folks I feel will compliment anything in the Covert Metals Collection in both style and craftsmanship.
Goods Apothecary
Let’s start with one of my personal favorites,Goods Apothecary. Everything Melissa makes is small batch, all natural, and wonderful, trust me I’ve used just about all of it. I love her shampoo bars and soaps the most, and her entire collection is full of love and care.
Be Good Ceramics
Shopping for a chef, or someone who dreams of being one? Then put something from Be Good Ceramics on your list of must-haves for Valentine’s Day. Becci creates her ceramic beauties in small batches. Her wares include everything from salt cellars and butter cloches to candle holders and travel mugs. I have one of her bowls and several incense holders and love them all.
Bynder Leather Goods
If you or anyone you know needs to be gifted quality leather goods, check out Tony’s shop Bynder Leather Goods. He specializes in wallets, custom bags, and organizers of all kinds. My go-to bag for any occasion was created by this great human.
Marta Kihn Fine Art
Bright colors, flowers, and landscapes are a feature in Marta Kihn’s paintings. She captures the magic of nature in a single brush stroke filling the entire piece with beauty and light. For Valentine’s Day you can share the joy of her creations with one of her original paintings or a print on canvas. One of Marta’s gorgeous paintings hangs in my studio.
ElseWear Collective
If Valentine’s Day has you feeling a little cozy, then ElseWear Collective is the perfect place to find warmth. Kelsey makes sweaters, tops, and accessories from locally sourced Merino wool, cotton, and cashmere one-at-a-time to limit waste and exceed on quality. The Teller sweater is one of my new favorite things, I’ll probably be wearing it next time you see me.
Atomic Child
For your really cool friend, or yourself, Jimmy's designs are a perfect gift. His collection of stickers, hats, blankets, and mugs can easily combine to make a custom gift set. Atomic Child really has something for everyone from the adventurer to the geek. I have one of his mountain skull designs in a pin, camping mug, and socks.
New Things from Covert Metals
The Terra Aurum collection will hit the site on Thursday, January 21st, in time for Valentine's Day. Each piece is designed with great detail and created with sterling silver accented with 14k gold. The unique stones at the center of the collection are chrysocolla with druzy inclusions. The solid gold bezels are scultped around each cabachon to outline the true distinctivness and natural beauty.
Any piece from one of the above wonderful creative businesses will be a perfect compliment to a Covert Metals creation.
